Division Chief, Clinical Operations; Medical Director
University of Vermont Health Network
Shelburne, Vermont
Dr. Julie Vieth is a practicing emergency physician and Associate Professor within the University of Vermont Health Network. She spends her clinical time between the tertiary care academic site and multiple critical access rural sites spread across upstate New York. As Division Chief, she spends much of her time developing and streamlining clinical operations for the Department of Emergency Medicine across the network and is keen on bringing many of the same skills and resources to patients in remote and rural areas.
Dr. Vieth has spent the last ten years focusing on obstetrical emergencies in the rural setting and leads several regional initiatives to bring mobile simulation to emergency departments across Vermont and Upstate New York. As a speaker on the national and international stage, she highlights the discrepancies in resources and care within maternity deserts and brings knowledge and skill to the bedside emergency physician often caring for these patients who otherwise would not have access to appropriate medical care.
