Your board is twenty- deep in patients and among the seven patients that signed in (in the past 30 minutes) is the chief complaint of "can't see out of right eye". Insert large sigh, as there is no ophthalmologist in house and your most recent eye complaint had a stye. This track session will provide an in-depth overview of traumatic eye injuries. Participations will gain a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms of injury, clinical presentation, diagnostic approaches and evidence-based management strategies. Special attention will be given to ocular emergencies such as globe rupture, hyphema and chemical injuries.

Identify the clinical features and mechanisms of common traumatic eye injuries.
demonstrate appropriate initial assessment and management ocular trauma in the emergency department
Determine appropriate referral pathways and follow up care for patients with traumatic eye injuries to ensure optimal visual outcomes.
