Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Dr Raven received her undergraduate degree in Sociology from Rice University, before crossing the street to Baylor College of Medicine for medical school. She completed residency at the University of Illinois - Chicago and then moved to Portland, OR for fellowship in Medical Education. She has stayed at OHSU as an Assistant Professor, serving as a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Advisor for the School of Medicine. Professionally, she is interested in health equity/social determinants of health education, simulation, and interprofessional education. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, music, and searching for the ever-elusive acceptable queso outside the state of Texas.
