Assistant Professor
University of Texas Dell Medical School
Austin, Texas
I am a Medical School Professor who teaches across the undergraduate curriculum—from genetics to clinical skills—and a practicing emergency physician. From 2014 to 2022, I held multiple roles at Circuit of the Americas, a purpose-built F1 track, ultimately serving as Chief Medical Officer. Starting as a medical center and track rescue physician, I developed a track record of publications and operational innovations that led to my advancement. I have extensive experience across elite motorsports disciplines, including F1, IndyCar, MotoGP, McLaren, NASCAR, and WEC. I designed and implemented evidence-based tools and communication protocols—now used globally—that contributed to an exceptional safety record.
I also serve as the National Director of Risk Science for a $2 billion healthcare organization and specialize in high-stakes medical decision-making. My work is supported by multiple NIH grants and a robust portfolio of peer-reviewed publications. I consult across diverse sectors—including medicine, motorsports, law, and counter-terrorism—where anticipating and preventing rare, catastrophic events is essential. I also serve on the board of a national risk retention group.
