Dr. Bruce Lo serves as the Chief of Emergency Medicine at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Old Dominion University (formerly Eastern Virginia Medical School). A former board member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM), he also co-chairs the Sentara Health System Stroke Program, which spans 12 hospitals across Virginia and North Carolina. Dr. Lo has contributed to multiple national guidelines (including stroke) and is a frequent lecturer at national and international conferences on neurological emergencies. He played a key leadership role in developing and implementing a system-wide protocol to safely discharge select patients with traumatic ICH directly from the emergency department in his health system.
