Dr. Chelsea Ausman is a board certified Emergency Medicine physician and the Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography fellowship director at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. She gained additional teaching skills through the ACEP/CORD teaching fellowship. She most recently served as the senior EM physician and Chief of Education for the 67th Forward Resuscitative and Surgical Detachment, 519th Hospital Center Grand Rounds Coordinator and staff physician at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany. She has additional ultrasound qualifications as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) and certifications by the Gulf Coast Ultrasound Institute. During her ultrasound fellowship at CRDAMC she developed the current EMUS curriculum and served as rotation coordinator for medical students, EM-PAs and EM residents. In her local civilian community, she helped develop the ultrasound curriculum for the Lee County EMS, Austin-Travis County EMS and San Antonio Fire that taught over 800 paramedics prehospital ultrasound skills. She routinely presents on medical topics at local and regional grand rounds lectures and at several national medical conferences. She also has coordinated several large scale ultrasound skills labs for regional civilian organizations, local military units, and several EM national conferences.
