Kyle Barbour, MD, FAAEM is an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Vermont in the Division of Rural and Population Health. His clinical work is largely in rural, high-acuity, solo coverage emergency departments and critical access hospitals in Vermont and New York. He maintains a practice at the University of Vermont Medical Center, Vermont's only academic, tertiary care referral center. Academically, he teaches emergency medicine residents, conducts research, and builds treatment pathways within the University of Vermont Health Network. His academic interests focuses on rural medicine, particularly regarding trauma and substance use disorders.
