Dr. Hynes is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin after completing her sub-specialty training in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in 2021. While at the University of Pennsylvania, she was appointed as the Chief Surgical Critical Care Administrative Fellow and also concurrently obtained a research certificate from the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Her clinical, educational, and research interests revolve around the care of injured and critically ill patients. She has had the privilege of collaborating with professionals from outside institutions and across the health system. As a mentor, she has guided several trainees, and their work has been published in various prestigious medical journals. Furthermore, she has presented their findings at numerous national and international conferences and meetings. She is the current chair of the AAEM Critical Care Medicine Section
