Dr Suchismita (Suchi) Datta’s passion for medicine was sparked at a young age, and her parents’ emphasis on education and the pursuit of knowledge has guided her journey ever since. She is the first physician in her entire extended family, making her graduation from medical school a significant milestone for everyone. Today, she finds immense satisfaction in being there for her patients during their most challenging times, offering a beacon of hope in the emergency department. Throughout her career, practicing in both community and academic settings, Dr Datta has developed a keen interest in medical education innovation and research. She has a particular interest in the application of the health humanities to the practice of EM. Currently, she serves as the Director of Emergency Medicine research at NYU Grossman LI School of Medicine. When she’s not taking care of patients or geeking out about medical education, Suchi is busy planning adventures with her two young children or enjoying live music with her husband.
