Alexandra Ortego MD is the Program Director of the NYU Grossman Long Island School of Medicine Emergency Medicine Residency Program. She graduated from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residency training at NYU Langone and Bellevue Hospital where she served as Chief Resident. She is a member of the founding residency leadership team for the NYU GLISOM EM residency where she helped develop the curriculum, complete the ACGME accreditation process and recruit its first four classes. Her areas of professional interest include graduate medical education, novel curriculum development and environmental emergencies. Outside of the hospital, she loves spending as much time as she can with her family of five and enjoys traveling, baking, hiking and exploring the great outdoors.
