Dr. Ilana Mayer-Hirshfeld is the Associate Program Director for the Abrazo Health Emergency Medicine Residency Program in Phoenix, Arizona. She practices clinically across multiple sites within Abrazo Health Network.
Dr. Mayer-Hirshfeld earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Bowdoin College and went on to complete her medical degree and Master of Public Health at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Creighton University School of Medicine/Maricopa Emergency Medicine Residency.
Her academic interests include resident assessment, curriculum development, and mentorship. She has led the development of a structured mock certifying exam curriculum and frequently presents at regional and national conferences. She also serves as Chair of the Clinical Competency Committee, Medical Education Committee, and Women in Medicine Committee, and is a graduate of the CORD Residency Administration Fellowship.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling, hiking, live music events, and spending time with her husband and their dog.
